Hargis Christian Camp
From our rustic cabins and lodges and intimate walking trails to the abundance of fun activities, a visit to Hargis is an experience that will leave a lifetime of memories. Nestled at the base of Signal Mountain, Hargis Christian Camp is more than just a camp. It is a little slice of Heaven.
Our Mission
Our overall mission at Hargis Christian Camp is to make Jesus known.
Our model for doing that is to provide a retreat style atmosphere and grounds for Christian conferences, retreats and events. Whether it is a youth camp, marriage conference, men's or women's retreat, staff retreat or a stand alone Christian event, we want to team up with you to further the Kingdom of God and His work.
Our Belief
At Hargis Christian Camp we believe that Jesus is Lord and Creator of all and the only path to eternal life.
We believe that biblical principles are the standard for living out our daily lives even here at the camp. We believe that our greatest calling is to share the gospel with the world. Everything we do should make an eternal impact for Christ.
Venue
Joshua D. Wright Auditorium
Wright Auditorium is such a special place. So many lives have been touched and changed in this worship center. A six thousand square foot auditoriom, with new carpet and paint. We have had just over 300 campers in here before. There is a 12'x12' jumbo screen and projector if needed. Also, a giant indoor playground for the little campers.
Wright Auditorium is only $100 per day if you are already renting a lodge.
Hargis Cafeteria
Hargis Cafeteria is the center hub of the camp. Like grandma's kitchen, it is where everyone goes to eat, make new friends and hang out. We have had as many as 250 people dine in for a banquet in this space. Equipped with a full kitchen and serving lines, the cafeteria is ready for hungry campers. You will find rocking chairs, a gas fire pit, and two grills on the spacious front deck. One of the prettiest lake views is just off the front stairs.
The charge for Hargis Cafeteria is only $100 per day if you are already renting a lodge.
Lodging
Giltner Hall / Griffin Lodge
Giltner Hall is the camp's oldest lodge. Located right on Hargis Lake, Giltner sleeps 120 campers comfortably. It is known for its vaulted ceilings and gameroom. Amazing memories have been made in Giltner Hall for sixty years now. A new spacious 32' x 18' deck overlooks the lake. The camp's largest lodge has four bunkrooms that accommodate thirty people in each.
Giltner's price per night is $1750.
Tine Davis Lodge
Tine Davis Lodge is our most requested lodge. This may be due to its location and dorm set-up. Like almost all of our buildings, Tine has recently been remodeled. It is located between three of the camp's main attractions, the worship center, the pool, and the athletic fields. This lodge sleeps sixty people. Two large bunkrooms downstairs that accommodate fourteen each, and six separate rooms upstairs that sleep thirty-two in total. Tine has a large, open meeting area with a suede sectional couch and twelve additional lounge chairs.
Tine's price per night is $1000.
Long Lodge
Long Lodge provides the most flexible and unique lodging scenarios you could ever need. This building has one long deck that is connected to eight different rooms. Six of the rooms will accommodate eight campers each, while the two large middle rooms sleep fourteen each. All rooms in Long Lodge have their own restrooms. It overlooks the lake as well as the outdoor amphitheater worship area.
The large bunkrooms are $325 per night.
The smaller bunkrooms are $275 per night.
Davis Hall A-Frame Cabin
Davis A-Frame sits beside Long Lodge and is one of our missionary lodges. This lodge has a kitchen, washer and dryer, 3 bunk beds (sleeping up to 6) and a queen bed upstairs. Maximum capacity for this lodge is 8 people.
Davis is $450 per night.
Ham House / Craft Cottage
Ham House is our only lodge that looks more like a home. The heart behind Ham House is that it would be used to house missionaries and their families as they are in town off of the mission field. But this lodge is mainly used for leadership teams, worship teams, pastors or speakers who are attending Hargis with their camps. It has a master bedroom with a queen bed and it's own full bath. Three other bedrooms sleep nine in total, bringing its capacity to 10. There is also a kitchen, washer and dryer, and brand new 12' x 24' deck with a view of the lake. Also featuring a couch, loveseat, two recliners and a television. (Two bathrooms total)
Ham is $450 per night. (unless you are a missionary in town, then it's free)
Hargis Christian Camp has 6 different lodging sites with the capacity to host as many as 315 individuals throughout the camp. Some lodges are better suited for smaller church groups with rooms as small as an 8-person-per-room capacity and other lodges as large as 130-person capacity. For details on each lodge’s pricing and capacity, see our lodging information drop-down on the main page.
Camp Activites
Hargis Lake
Hargis Lake is a beautiful slice of Heaven where any day, and any time, you can feel the presence of God. You can either sit by the water, pray and meditate, or go exploring. We provide canoes, kayaks, paddle boards and even a lake trampoline. Hargis Lake is twenty-five acres of fun!
There is no charge for the use of the lake with lodge rental. Only compensation for our lifeguards. (Lake swim is from Memorial Day to Labor Day, boating is year round. Lifeguards are required year round.)
Pepper Edwards Aquatic Center
The Edwards Aquatic Center is where you go for summer fun! A semi-olympic pool that is 78'x30', three foot deep on the shallow end and eleven foot deep on the other. An in-pool basketball goal has made for some pretty intense games. There are plenty of lounge chairs, as well as two cabanas that provide much needed shade from the summer sun.
There is no charge for use of the pool with lodge rental. Only compensation for our lifeguards. (The pool is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day)
Abundance of fun activities
Use a catchy line to elaborate on the heading mentioned above. Make sure it has a clear and appealing message.
We look forward to meeting you soon!
